In the summer of 2016 I had lunch with my friend R at a lovely restaurant called Olivia Brasserie, located in Vintapperstraede.
You can enter from the main shopping street (Vestergade), and it kind of feels like you’re going into an alley, but this one is nice and is full of restaurants and bars and small shops.
In the summer you can sit outside and have your lunch – if you can get a table, which we couldn’t. But inside Olivia was also nice, and the food is good. I had a lovely salad with salmon and fresh bread on the side. My friend had a sandwich with chicken salad and bacon…and we ordered fries to share and a glass of rosé.
There’s always something going on in Odense and especially in the summer when most cities in Denmark really come to life. Odense is a “young” city, it’s a university city with lots of young people that bring a great sense of energy that you might enjoy.
