What motivates me?
It can be a lot of things, but what motivates me right now is seeing, listening to and reading other people who are motivated to become better at what they do.
People who are motivated to becoming the best version of themselves. And that changes all the time. The more you see, listen and read, the more you learn and the more you see, the more you listen and the more you read.
More wants more, always. It’s like you’re creating a monster and as soon as that monster starts eating a little, it wants more and so you have to keep feeding it more, and more and more.
And that’s when you set yourself apart from everyone else, all the people that would rather watch Netflix instead of watching a documentary, a Ted Talk or a vlog.
You set yourself apart from all the people who would rather read a novel than a business book or a self-help book.
There’s nothing wrong with watching the occasional Netflix movie or TV show (I do that practically every day) or reading a fictional novel once in a while. You have to look at the overall, bigger picture.
In a sense, you become different (better?) than them because of what you chose to consume (reality instead of fiction) and how much time you choose to spend on that.
And time is precious, it’s a scarce commodity that’s constantly running out.
Life is short. So you have to ask yourself what you want to do with it and how you want to put it to good use and make the most of it.
Every single day.
