We got everything done in our preparations for Hurricane Irma’s arrival. In the afternoon, we moved all of our patio furniture inside and cleaned up around the house.
I felt funny in my throats since this morning, and I know it’s because I’ve been worried and stressed for days now.
We’ve been obsessively checking the weather and following Irma in her path toward the Caribbean. It’s so terrifying and the worst thing is probably the feeling of helplessness.
Because when all is said and done, what CAN we do? Except prepare, anticipate, inform, keep up to date and wait…there’s absolutely nothing we can do to change the course of events. We can try to prepare ourselves, our homes, etc., as best as we can, but when the hurricane comes, she’ll come full force and then…what CAN we do?
Maybe the most important things we can do will be the things we do before and after.
