I feel like I’ve been waiting the whole day – for nothing. This morning I was waiting for a cable guy to come to my house and fix my cable TV box. They said that he’d come by in the morning (no specific hour), so I stayed home.
At noon, he still hadn’t shown up.
At 2:00 pm, he still hadn’t shown up.
At 3:51 pm, they called from the cable company saying that he’d been “there” but there was nothing to report. WTF!?! I asked the lady who called me where “there” was, because I’d been here waiting the whole day! She really couldn’t say.
We made another appointment for tomorrow and she promised me that the cable guy would stop by no later than at 9:00 am – at my house. At the exact address that I gave her. So, let’s see.
Later, in the afternoon, Anders asked me to cancel a reservation on Expedia that was expiring soon. So I called and entered my information into the answering machine – but without any luck. I opted for the call-back service…and waited. They were supposed to call me back in 30-40 minutes.
I waited for an hour and nothing. Called again and the call-back time was scheduled in the next 6-9 minutes. I waited another half hour and nothing. Then Anders came home and said that their call-back service didn’t work for here and when I called back again to speak to an agent…the waiting time was approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
As Gary Vee would explicitly say…You have to deploy patience.
