Today is my Mother-in-law’s 67th birthday and we celebrate it “like always”. We (Mr. A, his sister and I) get up early to prepare breakfast (fresh bread, eggs, bacon, cheese, jam, fruit, coffee, juice…), set the table and lay out the presents (more presents!).
When we’re just about ready, we wake her up with a birthday song and she “pretends” to be s-u-r-p-r-i-s-e-d even though she knows it’s coming.
So, we had a lovely breakfast on the terrace.
We spent the day doing “this and that”. I mostly slept because I was feeling so sick and wanted to have a little more energy for dinner.
Mr. A went out to meet some Danish clients/friends who were in town and staying at a hotel nearby and he ended up inviting them to the birthday dinner…which they ended up inviting us out for (and paying for).
We went to Chateaubriand, which is a steakhouse in town. I’m not a big fan of red meat and especially not steaks, so I just ordered the goat cheese & bacon burger with fries instead. We didn’t have any starter or dessert, but we had champagne…we had a bottle of Perrier-Jouët. It was my first time trying it and I LIKED IT. Oh, it was so good.
The dinner went on and everything was great. We ate the food (it was delicious).
We drank the wine (it was delicious).
And we went back to out house for dessert and a night cap.
Happy birthday…and many moooore!
