Why have I never made smoothie bowls before?
I’ve seen tons of photos of smoothie bowls on Instagram but never really cared to make one myself, even though I LOVE SMOOTHIES. My smoothie obsession has taken on a whole new life since I got a Nutribullet blender for Christmas, which makes the whole process so much easier.
I used to always gulp down my smoothies and it would often give me a tummy ache and I’d be hungry again after just a few hours. So, in the spirit of trying to change my diet in general and learning to eat my food more slowly…I’ve decided to give smoothie bowls a serious try.
And it’s honestly so much fun. I need to figure out how to get the right mix of ingredients to get the eye-popping colors that I like…yes, this definitely needs some work.
This morning, I made a smoothie bowl with:
Banana (1-2 frozen)
Papaya (about a cup)
Romaine lettuce (a handful)
Almond milk (about a cup)
Hemp seeds (about a tbsp)
Pumpkin seeds (about a tbsp)
I didn’t really measure everything (it’s too much work!). I just added the amount I thought would be good and that would fit into my Nutribullet blender cup (the large one).
This smoothie kept me full for just over 3 hrs…
