Carefully making a smoothie bowl that not only tastes great but is also “Instagram worthy”, then finding the “perfect” spot, taking several pictures of the smoothie bowl and finally choosing the best one to post on Instagram is really totally ridiculous!!! I’ve known this all along, but somehow it just hit me. The things we do and post on social media is sometimes so stupid.
But “everyone” seems to be doing it, so I’ll keep playing along… You never know. Maybe some day, someone will hit me up and offer to feature my smoothie bowl(s) in some fancy smoothie bowl magazine and I’ll be rich & famous. Ha ha ha ha. That would, of course, be completely dreamy…but until then, I’ll just share here in case someone out there might find a bit of inspiration in this:
Here is my breakfast smoothie bowl…I think this is one of my favorite:
- Chia seeds (1 tbsp)
- Oats (1 tbsp)
- Hemp seeds (1 tbsp)
- Almond milk (unsweetened, about a cup)
- Banana (3 medium)
- Mixed forest berries (about 2 cups)
I soaked the chia seeds and oats in the almond milk overnight (in the fridge). In the morning, I added all of the ingredients in the NutriBullet blender (the large cup) and blended for about 30 seconds – until smooth.
You can, of course, also use a regular blender. Just add more milk or water if necessary to get the thickness that you want.
I topped with a few half frozen berries (they thaw pretty quickly) and a sprinkle of shredded coconut.
